I wish everyone reading this blog the best of health and happiness in the New Year! I especially wish that everyone tries new and exciting foods this year!
For those seeking New Year's dietary guidance and are trying to shed off those unwanted pounds that accumulated over (or before) the holidays, I have only one word of advice - EAT! As tempting as they may be, those wacky "no-no" diets that demand you give up your favorite foods simply don't work long term. So before you grab the latest fad diet book off the shelf, ask yourself this question -"Can you follow the advice for the rest of your life and be happy?" If the answer is "no" than do yourself a favor and don't subject yourself to another disappointment. Instead, concentrate on a more sane and enjoyable "add-in approach" like you would find in the 101 Foods book. You won't be disaappointed!
Well, it's been one year since the release of the 101 Foods That Could Save Your Life book. Here's a peek of what's happened since then:
1. I have a video-centric website that features many of the 101 Foods. I plan to go back into the studio later on this month to produce more videos with new and exciting information on the health and culinary benefits of the featured foods. You can visit the site by clicking
here.
2. The 101 Foods That Could Save Your Life Radio Show launched on December 20th, 2008! The show can be heard eack week on AM 1160, WYLL at 8:30am CST. It also streams live at the same time on www.WYLL.com. The podcasts of each show are available at
http://www.101foodsthatcouldsaveyourliferadio.com/aboutus.html. Each week I give away free books from my guests as well as copies of the 101 Foods. Simply drop me a line and ask me or a future guest a question. If I read your question on air, YOU WIN!
By the way, tomorrow's guest is Montel!! You don't want to miss this heart-warming show about Montel's battle with MS and depression - truly inspirational!!
3. The book has either come out or will be coming out in an amazing number of languages which include Arabic, Turkish, Greek, Romanian, Polish, Spanish, Portugese, Czechloslovakian, Frech and Latvian! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Italian and Yiddish versions this year!
I would love to hear about how your efforts to incorporate the 101 Foods are going! Have questions? Bring 'em on! As my new friend
MizFit always says, "Hit me up in the comments"! By the way, I will be contributing a "Food-of-the-month-video" to her blog. January's featured food? POTATOES!!
I'm off to put the wraps on my next book. I think you are going to like it - stay tuned for updates!! Meanwhile, may you enjoy all that life has to offer and never be without good food!
Yours in good health,
Dave
