101 Foods Update!

Greeting Food and Health Lovers!

So sorry for the looooong time between posts. There is so much I want to catch you up on that I decided to talk about a bunch of food releated news that you might find interesting...

First, Happy National Nutrition Month (what's left of it!). If you have been toying with the idea of improving your diet, now is the perfect time to start adding some of the 101 Foods. Start off with adding in one more fruit or vegetable serving everyday. It could be fresh, frozen canned or juiced - it's all good! And thank you to all of my fellow dietitians who do such a great job promoting good nutrition in the most delicious ways. Go ahead and hug a dietitian today...on second thought, maybe introduce yourself first!

A New Book is on the Horizon - That's why I haven't been posting...see? I have been busy writing a new book for the past year and recently submitted it for editing. As soon as I get word when it is ready for 'Prime Time', I will let you know a little more about it. All I can say at this point is this book brings together many of the 101 Foods deliciously to combat many of the common challanges to your health and well-being that you face everyday. And like the 101 Foods book, you will find amazing recipes that will make improving your life a snap!

Dave's Raves - I am working on the next Dave's Raves list of brand name products but there was an item I just tried and I couldn't wait to tell you about it.

Tropicana has come out with a new product called Trop 50. I have to tell you - I'm old school when it comes to orange juice - give me mine straight up and don't mess with it. But if you are drinking more than eight ounces a day, give Trop 50 a try. It's half the sugar and half the calories. And of course, I was expecting half the taste too, especially when I read they were using stevia as sugar substitute. I can't stand the taste of stevia but I must tell you, I dug the taste of Tropicana's new creation. Check it out

More 101 Food Videos! I'm going back into the studio to record three new food videos on the health benefits of strawberries, grapes and soy. These should be ready for "Prime Time" by early June. I'll keep you posted and of course, you will find them on the 101 Foods That Could Save Your Life website.

101 Foods Radio Show goes all web, all the time - Starting April 1st, the 101 Foods Radio Show will reside on the 101 Foods website as podcasts. I have quite an exciting line up of guests including one of my favorites from the Food Network, Ellie Krieger! Stay tuned!

I am looking forward to your new book :)

Quick Question: On the Break It Down segment of each recipe; Are the calories the total calories of the whole recipe or calories per serving?

The book is in the editing process now and I hope to hear about a release date, soon!

The calories stated are per serving, not for the whole recipe.

Thanks!
